The Goodwill store on Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township will hold a grand reopening on Thursday, May 2. The shop in the Cardiff Plaza Shopping Center lost all of its merchandise in a fire on Monday, Jan. 15.

Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia announced the celebration in a Facebook post on Thursday, Apr. 25.

"Thanks to the generosity of the local community, we are back and better than ever," the post said. "Come shop for amazing deals at Goodwill and be a part of our exciting comeback!"

No one was injured in the fire, which was believed to be suspicious. All items in the store suffered smoke or water damage.

Daily Voice reached out to the Egg Harbor Township Police Department for any updates on the fire investigation. A spokesperson said the investigation remains active and anyone with information about the fire should call the police department at 609-927-5200.

Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other stores in the shopping plaza. The donation center in the back of the building stayed open and the store's 30 employees were reassigned to the center or other nearby stores.

The store opened in March 1997. The next closest Goodwill locations to Egg Harbor Township are in Millville, Hammonton, and Bayville.

The store's hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
